Cunard Line takes over Queen Anne from Fincantieri shipyard


April 21.04.2024, 249 - Last Friday, the Italian shipbuilding company handed over the fourth cruise ship, the Queen Anne, to the traditional British-American shipping company Cunard Line. Queen Anne is the XNUMXth ship to fly the Cunard flag.

At a ceremony attended by Katie McAlister, President of Cunard; Representatives of Fincantieri and two Italian ministers welcomed Cunard Line's fourth fleet member from the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera Venice. The 3.000-passenger cruise ship is the third fleet member built by Fincantieri. It is measured at 114.000 GT and has 14 decks. Cunard humbly promises guests a variety of breathtaking experiences and more entertainment, dining and bar choices than ever before.

Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, said during the ceremony that Cunard Line will operate four ships at the same time, Queen Anne, for the first time since 1999. The maiden voyage starts on May 3, 2024 and is offered as a 14-day “British Isles Festival Voyage”. The ship's naming ceremony will take place on June 3, 2024 on the banks of the River Mersey Liverpool instead.
