According to TUI Cruises, the focus was primarily on noticeable improvements in comfort and design: Approximately 6.500 square meters of carpet were replaced in several key areas, including the Atlantik Klassik and Atlantik Mediterran restaurants, as well as the ship's heart, the TUI Bar, the Diamant Bar, and Anckelmannsplatz. Additionally, popular meeting places such as the X-Lounge, the Surf and Turf Steakhouse, the Show Bar, and the GOSCH Sylt fish restaurant received refreshed furnishings.

Changes were also needed on deck. The area around the 25-meter pool and the lagoon pool on deck 12 were refurbished and repainted, and the sun loungers on deck 15 were completely renovated.
So much for the visual improvements: Technically, TUI Cruises is implementing a new feature in its onboard laundry: Mein Schiff 5 is the first ship in the fleet to be fully equipped with INDIKON microplastic filters from the Cleaner Seas Group. These filters, connected directly to the washing machines, are designed to retain up to 99 percent of microfibers from synthetic clothing in the wastewater before it enters the post-treatment stage; the systems are cleaned and reused.
