Mein Schiff 7: traditional Lucky Coin ceremony performed

April 30, 2024 - The Mein Schiff 7 is still berthed at the equipment quay at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, and expansions to the interior and exterior areas still need to be made before TUI Cruises takes over the new flagship and christens it on June 22, 2024. As a foretaste of the impending completion, the ttraditional Lucky Coin Ceremony took place in the new building.

Maritime tradition says that a ship that has “lucky coins” always has a “nest egg” on board. The ship is therefore ready to sail at any time.

Even though the youngest member of the Mein Schiff fleet still looks like a major construction site, work is in the final stages. The final extensions to the interior and exterior areas are being carried out at the outfitting pier. The start-up crew will go on board in a few weeks. The youngest member of the fleet will be christened in Kiel Bay. Mein Schiff 7 tours during the summer season from/to Kiel Towards Nordland and from mid-August from/to Warnemunde on various Baltic Sea trips.
