MEYER WERFT is building another cruise ship for Carnival Cruise Line

February 14, 2024 - MEYER WERFT is building an environmentally friendly sister ship of the Carnival Jubilee for the Carnival Cruise Line, which will be delivered in 2027, thus continuing its long-standing partnership.

The MEYER WERFT is pleased to continue its long-standing partnership with the Carnival Corporation, the largest cruise company in the world. Together they are building another impressive cruise ship for the Carnival cruise line agreed. This new ship will be a sister ship to the one delivered in 2023 Carnival Jubilee and is scheduled for delivery in 2027.

Innovative design and sustainable technology

The new ship, which is based on the proven technical platform of the MEYER WERFT and MEYER TURKU continues to rely on environmentally friendly LNG propulsion technology. With a length of around 344 meters and a size of around 180.000 gross registered tons (GT), it will not only offer space for more than 6.400 guests, but also guarantee an exceptional travel experience.

A sign of the growth of the cruise industry

“This order underlines the confidence in the recovery of the cruise market and the continued high demand for sea travel,” explains Thomas Weigend, Chief Sales Officer of the MEYER Group. Bernd Eikens, CEO of the MEYER Group, emphasizes the importance of the continuous collaboration with Carnival Corporation since 2018, which has already led to the completion of nine LNG-powered cruise ships.

Contribution to securing jobs

The construction of the new cruise ship is not only an important milestone for MEYER WERFT, but also makes a significant contribution to securing long-term jobs at the shipyard itself and at local partner companies. MEYER WERFT's order book currently includes five cruise ships, a research ship and the steel construction for four offshore converter platforms.
