Oceania Cruises launches new Sonata-class ship


May 5, 2025 - With the ceremonial steel-cutting ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, construction of the Oceania Sonata officially began. The 67.000-ton ship is the first of the new Sonata class and represents a new era of small, luxury cruise ships with a focus on excellent cuisine and immersive destinations..

Oceania Sonata is scheduled to enter service in 2027, followed by her sister ship, Oceania Arietta. Both ships will set the standard as the most spacious and best-appointed ships in the fleet. They will continue the Oceania tradition of world-class dining, elegant interiors, and personalized, curated itineraries.
