April 3, 2024 – Rostock-Warnemünde is another important German cruise port alongside Hamburg and Kiel. The 14 cruise season begins on Sunday, April 2024th with the departure of the AIDAmar and music and dancing.
The 2024 season starts with a varied program – the “Port Party” – on the quay edge of the middle pier. The focus of the event is the traditional Rostock ship SANTA BARBARA ANNA and the AIDAmar. The event begins at 11:00am with music by Ola van Sander, a well-known regional singer, the shanty choir “De Klaashahns” and a performance by the Warnemünde traditional costume group. Food and drinks are served in a beer garden built for this purpose. The AIDAmar's departure in the evening will be accompanied by music and presentation.

In this context, Rostock's tourism director Matthias Fromm says that the demand for cruises in the Baltic Sea and in particular to and from Warnemünde is high. This year's cruise season will see 146 calls from 36 cruise ships. Eight ships show their colors in the Warnow estuary for the first time, and 69 of the voyage change calls alone concern the AIDAdiva and the AIDAmar.
