Royal Caribbean International christens Utopia of the Seas

July 8, 2024 – In less than two weeks, Utopia of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International’s latest new build, will be launched Port Canaveral in Florida for her first cruise in the Caribbean. The gigantic ship, which belongs to the Oasis Class, starts its career with 3-night weekend trips and 4-night weekday excursions.The new arrival will be christened by the US songwriter and pop singer Meghan Trainor.

It is the first ship in the now six-ship Oasis class to be powered by LNG, liquefied natural gas. Utopia of the Seas, the ship's name stands for "Utopia of the Seas", is the first of its kind to debut, with 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday voyages.

Utopia of the Seas offers its guests more than 40 options for eating, drinking and partying, including 23 bars and lounges. Certain facilities are exclusive to Utopia. There are two casinos and the Royal Railway - Utopia Station, a unique, immersive train car dining experience. There are five pools and eight whirlpools, water slides and other thrills such as climbing walls and water slides. The entertainment options are varied. Shows in the air, on the ice, on the water and on stage ensure that there is no boredom. The ship was built by the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint Nazaire.

The godmother is the successful American songwriter and pop singer Meghan Trainor. The christening ceremony is designed as a unique media spectacle.
