September 30, 2025 – The Hamburg Cruise Company TUI Cruises has at the Italian shipyard Fincantieri two additional cruise ships Intuition Class This newbuild order replaces a letter of intent previously agreed in March 2025 for two ships of the British sister brand Marella Cruises.
The two new ships are to be delivered in the calendar years 2031 and 2032 completed and delivered to TUI Cruises. Fincantieri estimates the contract value at over 2 billion euros.

TUI Cruises and the Intuition Class
TUI Cruises is a joint venture of the tourism group TUI AG and the Royal Caribbean Group and is one of the leading cruise operators in German-speaking countries. Under the "Mein Schiff" brand, the shipping company currently operates eight ships with a capacity of around 22.800 beds. Intuition Class ("InTUItion"), TUI Cruises is opening a new chapter: For the first time, new ships no longer carry numbers, but concept names. The first ship in this class, the My ship Relax, was commissioned in February 2025; the sister ship Mein Schiff Flow follows in summer 2026. These ships mark a new generation of the wellness fleet, which is larger than previous generations and uses modern environmental technologies.
Size and capacity of the new buildings
The two ships now ordered correspond in their key data to the already introduced Intuition Class (My ship Relax / Mein Schiff Flow): around 333 meters Length, approx. 160.000 GT, Width approx. 42 meters and capacity for about 3.984 guests (double occupancy) and around 1.500 crew members. This means they continue to be among the largest units in the fleet and are significantly larger than previous generations (e.g. Mein Schiff 7 with approx. 113.000 GT).
Focus on sustainability
How nice My ship Relax and Flow The new ships will also be equipped with Dual-fuel engines equipped with both liquefied natural gas (LNG) and marine diesel (MGO). This propulsion technology reduces emissions and meets strict exhaust emissions standards. In addition, Exhaust aftertreatment systems which significantly reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. In the future, operation with Bio-LNG or synthetic E-LNG as soon as these alternative fuels are available. The ships will also receive Shore power connectionsto avoid emissions during port stays, as well as modern waste and wastewater treatment plants.

The new ships will be built by Fincantieri in Italy. The shipyard has already My ship Relax delivered and working on the sister ship Mein Schiff FlowWith this new contract, both companies continue their collaboration. Fincantieri emphasizes the combination of innovation, sustainability, and high vertical integration in Italian shipbuilding.
TUI Cruises is on a growth path overall. After 2023 Mein Schiff 7 (built by Meyer Turku) complemented the fleet and in 2025/26 the first LNG ships Relax and Flow are introduced, the new ships now ordered will further expand the fleet in the early 2030s. Mein Schiff 8 and 9 (working title) from this order, the Mein Schiff fleet should then eleven ships With larger and more efficient units, TUI Cruises will be able to carry more passengers in the future while further reducing per capita emissions.
