May 21, 2022 - After the complete standstill of cruise ships caused by the corona pandemic, the market has been recovering for some time. Even if the booking figures are still not satisfying the cruise companies, the situation on board the ships is gradually approaching the situation before the outbreak of the corona pandemic. This applies in particular to the ships of AIDA Cruises. The company has just lifted the mask requirement on board for the coming summer.
AIDA Cruises guests can look forward to significant relaxation on board. On all trips from May 27, 2022, wearing a medical mouth and nose protector is no longer mandatory on board AIDA ships in the interior areas. However, AIDA Cruises explains that wearing the mask is still recommended to protect all fellow passengers (and for your own protection).
Normality is coming back. The shipping company emphasizes that, in addition to organized excursions, individual shore leave is permitted on all trips. The wellness and fitness areas are open without restrictions until further notice. The “Kidsclub” welcomes children from the age of three again. For children under the age of three, crawling groups or parent-child playtime are organized in the Mini Club. The outdoor events Haifischbar, Alpenglühn or the Silent Event are open again.

AIDA Cruises lures with the "AIDA Summer Promise". Security and flexibility begin with the travel booking. If you book a new trip in the 2022 summer season by June 30, 2022, guests in all AIDA fares can rebook both the travel date (departure of the new trip by October 31.10.2022) or the route free of charge. The offer is valid up to 30 days before the start of the trip. If a positive test result is presented between 14 days before the start of the trip and the day of departure, a one-off rebooking free of charge is permitted. If quarantine is necessary in the destination area, AIDA provides free accommodation and the subsequent free return journey home.
Full vaccination protection is required for guests aged twelve and over. The COVID-19 certificate from the European Union serves as proof. A certified antigen test is required for all guests aged three and over. AIDA Cruises reserves the right to adjust the hygiene concept if necessary.
