April 26, 2018 - On April 24, 2018, AIDAbella ended its extensive 14-day lift-up program at a Marseille shipyard. In addition to necessary maintenance work, technical changes and optical improvements, the ship, which was put into service in 2008, received another attraction with the alpine hut.
The shipyard list comprised around 340 items, including 42 technical and hotel-specific projects. The new exhaust gas cleaning system will serve environmental protection in the future. The final installation of a shore power connection has also started. The communication systems benefited from further improvements. And: the upper and lower water paintwork was renewed, new carpets were laid throughout the ship and the kissing mouth was also refreshed.

Even though the work carried out is not necessarily noticeable, the regular guests of the AIDAbella will definitely notice changes in the restaurant area. For lovers of alpine specialties, the Almhütte built-in. As far as that is concerned, AIDA Cruises tie in with the concept "The best from the Alpine region" from the extremely popular brewery that is already on board many of the cruise ships in the AIDA fleet.

In the rustic alpine hut, various beer specialties and hearty treats such as a typical snack with pretzels, obazda and sausage salad, grilled knuckle and grilled duck or goulash with dumplings are served. The meals and the service at the seat are included in the tour price. The drinks are available at an additional cost. The entertainment in the alpine hut ranges from morning pint to hut fun and Oktoberfest to live music and karaoke.
Also the "Ice bar by Langnese Happiness Station“Was set up during the shipyard stay. The shop area was also given a new look. A new promenade has been set up on deck 9. Their stores offer jewelry & watches, perfumes and cosmetics, fashion & accessories, living & gift giving, kids and AIDA world. A Meissen porcelain range can also be found in the shop area.
From May, passengers can experience the new features of the AIDAbella on the routes "Norway's Fjords 4" and "Baltic Sea from Kiel 4" for themselves.
