April 29, 2024 - Celebrity Ascent, Celebrity Cruises' new flagship, debuts its first cruise in the Mediterranean. Commissioned in 2023, the Edge-class vessel will sail from Barcelona, ​​Rome and Piraeus/Athens throughout the summer, visiting a range of spectacular destinations in the Eastern and Western Mediterranean.

The European debut season started – starting from Barcelona – with a ten-day cruise along the French and Italian Riviera. During this trip, Celebrity Ascent offers guests unique destinations, such as an overnight stay in La Spezia. The Ascent lies there for two full days and offers its passengers plenty of opportunity to discover the Ligurian coast.

The 327 meter long ship sets new standards for luxury and experiences with its design designed by renowned experts. Guests enjoy exclusive onboard facilities including The Retreat for suite guests and the innovative Magic Carpet. The unique system serves as a bar during the day and as an extension of one of the specialty restaurants in the evening.

The culinary diversity on board is impressive, from exquisite gourmet cuisine to 3D dining experiences and clean cuisine in the tropical ambience of "Eden". The entertainment program has been expanded to include new production shows in "The Theater" and interactive experiences in "The Club" has been expanded. Also new is the open-air show "Ascent After Dark: Shine the Night" taking place on the Resort Deck.

Celebrity Ascent offers cruises throughout the Western and Eastern Mediterranean, including destinations such as Portofino and Naples on the Italian mainland. The most popular island destinations in the western Mediterranean include Sicily, Sardinia, Malta and Corsica. Eastern Mediterranean destinations include the Greek islands of Mykonos and Santorini as well Kusadasi (Ephesus) in Turkey. – With 17 decks and space for a maximum of 3.260 guests, the 140.600 GT cruise ship sets standards for luxury and experiences at sea.
