Celestyal Discovery back on a long journey after winter break

May 27, 2025 – The Cypriot shipping company Celestyal Cruises used the winter break to undergo a comprehensive overhaul of the Celestyal Discovery, formerly AIDAaura. The ship then departed Athens for a four-day opening cruise of the Greece and Mediterranean season..

After renovations were already completed in the winter of 2023/2024, the shipping company used the 2024/2025 winter break for further work. This work was aimed at expanding the cabin offerings. A total of 32 suites and 15 inside cabins were added. The 32 suites are divided into 30 Junior Dream Suites, each measuring 25 square meters and featuring a balcony of up to 5,6 square meters, and two Grand Horizon Suites, each measuring 42 square meters, located above the bridge. They feature a separate living area and a 15,5 square meter balcony.

The "Smoked Olive" is available as an exclusive dining room for suite guests. Guests in other cabin categories may use it subject to availability. During the season, "Grill Seekers" will be added, another evening restaurant with a bookable private dining area. It offers upscale, regional specialties inspired by the ship's destinations.
