Three ships and a christening: This was a unique and unprecedented fleet reunion in TUI Cruises' history. The shipping company spared no expense or effort. Those in attendance included Wybcke Meier, CEO of TUI Cruises, presenter Judith Rakers, who hosted the evening, invited guests from politics and business, and, as the main guest of the evening, Robbie Williams, the "Wellness Ambassador" of the Mein Schiff Relax.
The christening was performed by a crew member, Giuliana Rizzo, SPA & Sport Manager of the Mein Schiff Relax. The German-Italian has worked for TUI Cruises for ten years. She wore a haute couture dress by fashion designer Dawid Tomaszewski, who designs exclusive cruise collections for sister brand Hapag-Lloyd Cruises and the established "fashion2sea" format. Wearing this dress, she walked to the christening podium, accompanied by a 36-member Andalusian choir. A short speech was followed by the shattering of the obligatory champagne bottle against the bow of the ship, which in turn triggered a pyrotechnic display along a 120-meter-long line of rockets.
The christening was followed by performances, a fireworks display, and a party atmosphere on the three TUI ships. The christening video offers impressions of an unforgettable event.
In the summer, Mein Schiff Relax will cruise the Western Mediterranean on 7- to 10-day voyages from/to Palma/Mallorca. In the winter of 2025/26, the new flagship will move to the Canary Islands.
