CocoCay - Royal Caribbeans private island

May 07, 2020 - Royal Caribbean, the world-class cruise company, strives for superlatives. With the Oasis class, the shipping company operates the largest cruise ships in the world. The Quantum class shines with the North Star observation gondola and CocoCay, a fantastic private island, has been opened in the Bahamas. Cost: $ 250 million.

"Perfect Day at CocoBay" is what Royal Caribbean calls its private island, which opened last weekend in the Bahamas. In the future, eleven ships of the Royal Caribbean fleet will head for the ports in Florida and in the north-east of the USA for the "combination of unique thrills and ideal relaxation opportunities".

Some of the highlights: Daredvil's Peak, the highest water slide in North America (40 meters), the largest wave pool in the Caribbean, a helium balloon rising to a height of 135 meters or the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean. The latter is divided into three different bays. Each of the bays offers a special atmosphere and its own special underwater sound system.

At Captain Jack's, at the Skipper's Grill and at the Chill Grill you can eat and drink. A 500-meter zip line encourages use, and in the “Chill Island” relaxation oasis, in addition to cabins and sun loungers, jet ski excursions are also offered. Not to mention the various beach bars. The system will be expanded to include a few additional features by December 2019. By the way: Further Perfect Day Island Collection destinations in Asia, Australia and the Caribbean are planned and will be announced at a later date.

The costs associated with visiting the facility for guests are not discussed. At the latest when you look at the on-board bill, it becomes clear what the carefree pleasure costs. Welcome to Royal Caribbeans beautiful cruise world of superlatives!
