Costa Cruises: more freedom when it comes to cruises

Costa Cruises: more freedom when it comes to cruises

September 27th, 2022 - From October 8th, the health rules will change at Costa Cruises. The shipping company promises its guests all-round carefree cruises.

The modified health protocols have the following consequences:

Antigen tests are superfluous
All guests under the age of 5 and all guests immunized against Covid-19 are exempt from antigen testing on cruises in the Mediterranean, South America, the Caribbean and the United Arab Emirates from October 8, 2022 when boarding Costa ships. An exception are cruises that include stopovers in Greek ports.

Covid insurance and health questionnaires
Pre-boarding Covid insurance is no longer required. The shipping company unreservedly recommends taking out such insurance when booking. A short questionnaire on the state of health of travelers is required.

Tests and mask wearing during the cruise
Antigen tests and daily temperature checks during the cruise are no longer carried out. Exceptions are stopovers in the Caribbean destinations Barbados, St. Martin and St. Vincent, as well as stops in the Kingdom of Morocco.

There are no capacity restrictions in the restaurants, bars, theatre, spa, disco or in the shops. The protocols in force on land are decisive for such restrictions.

Wearing medical or FFP2 masks is no longer mandatory on board. However, wearing a mask is recommended.
