Costa Deliziosa: Greece cruises suspended


November 7, 2020 - AGreece is introducing new travel restrictions in response to the rising number of coronavirus cases. These measures are forcing Costa Crociere to temporarily suspend Costa Deliziosa's cruises to Greece.

According to its current program, the Costa Deliziosa runs one-week cruises from Trieste via Katakolon, Athens, Heraklion and Bari. With the return of the Costa Deliziosa to Trieste on November 7th, the cruise ship will pause for seven weeks. The cruises scheduled between November 7th and December 19th have been canceled. The shipping company is currently planning to resume operations on the Costa Deliziosa on December 26th. On this and the following voyages, the ship will visit destinations on the Adriatic and the eastern Mediterranean. Stays are planned in Triest, Bari, Brindisi and Catania. Further destinations on the route will be announced in the coming weeks.

In connection with the cancellation of the voyages, Costa Crociere stated that the comprehensive health measures introduced on board the ship had shown that cruises are possible under increased safety conditions. The Costa Smeralda, the second Costa ship in service, will continue its cruises to Italian destinations as planned.

In addition to Costa, TUI Cruises is also forced to cancel the blue voyages planned in Greece due to the Greek lockdown.
