The project is part of a strategic partnership between Carnival Corporation & plc, the world's largest cruise company, and Shamal Holding, which aims to make Dubai the region's leading maritime tourism hub. The Dubai Harbor Cruise Terminal is the first cruise port with two terminals in the region and can accommodate two large cruise ships at the same time. Located in the heart of modern Dubai, the facility extends over 120.000 square meters and includes two specially constructed terminal buildings that enable passengers and crew to embark and disembark safely, comfortably and seamlessly.

The Italian pavilion cannot be overlooked on the Expo site, has an area of around 3.500 square meters and is over 25 meters high. The guiding principle “Italian beauty” has always been a connecting element between peoples, talents, the Mediterranean cultural heritage and the bridge to the future. The pavilion pays homage to Italy's seafaring tradition, for the constant exchanges and relationships with the world that have allowed Italy to become that mix of culture, ingenuity, talent and art so valued around the world. Costa Crociere is presented in the exhibition in its leading role on the subject of sustainability in the transport and tourism sector.
