Cruise ship Carnival Jubilee masters the Ems crossing

October 31, 2023 - Carnival's new flagship arrived in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, at around 7:00am this morning after a problem-free passage through the Ems. The 345 meter long LNG-powered new building will be handed over to Carnival Cruise Line on December 4, 2023, provided there are no unforeseen delays.

Next planned are technical and nautical tests in the North Sea. Final completion is on the agenda during the test drives and after the return to Eemshaven. The original plan was for the ship, measured at 182.800 gross tons, to sail under the AIDA Cruises flag. However, due to the global corona pandemic, a brand change took place. The Carnival Group saw faster recoveries at Carnival Cruise Line than at AIDA Cruises.

During the construction phase, the concept was adapted to the needs of American ship guests. Unlike originally conceived, the Carnival Jubilee now serves as an adventure world, wellness oasis and party location. An indispensable element of the experience is the breathtaking, award-winning BOLT™ roller coaster. It provides pure thrills high above the sea. Also worth mentioning is the WaterWorks™ water park. Young and old can have fun on the various slides. Several pools, a jogging course and fields for ball sports encourage the sporting ambitions of the clientele. The employees of the Cloud 9 Spa™ strive to ensure the physical and mental well-being of their customers.

The Carnival Jubilee has 2.687 cabins and suites, which are divided into more than twenty categories. The surprisingly large cabins are spread over 15 passenger decks. The heart of the inner ship is the three-story atrium on the starboard side. What is a pleasant place to stay during the day turns into a show location in the evenings.

Various restaurants, bars and lounges satisfy hunger and thirst. The “local scene” boasts two main restaurants with à la carte service, a buffet restaurant and various snack stations. Specialty restaurants are subject to additional payment. The French Quarter seems interesting to us. In keeping with the special ambience of the city of New Orleans, the ship's French Quarter offers a variety of entertainment with bars, entertainment and eateries.

The Carnival Jubilee will be stationed in Galveston, Texas after the Atlantic passage. From there she undertakes seven-day trips in the western Caribbean.
