September 15, 2021 - It couldn't have been worse for the WORLD VOYAGER, the small, fine cruise ship from nicko cruises. The expedition and cruise ship, which can hold a maximum of 200 passengers, is moored in the port of Hamburg. Several crew members are infected with the corona virus.
The 126-meter-long expedition ship is currently on a break WORLD VOYAGER at the Hamburg Cruise Terminal Baakenhöft in the Hamburg new development area "Quartier Elbbrücken der Hafencity". The ship is not allowed to leave the port for the time being because of the infections on board. During routine health checks during the trip from September 7th to 11th, three crew members of the WORLD VOYAGER tested positive for Covid-19 and immediately isolated in order to interrupt the chain of infection. Five crew members are now affected by the infection. According to nicko cruises, all crew members were previously fully vaccinated against SARS CoV-19. The shipping company therefore assumes that there is little transmission of the virus to other people and that the course is mild.
