Disney Cruise Line - MEYER WERFT undocks Disney Wish


February 11, 2022 – MEYER WERFT in Papenburg undocked the Disney Wish from Baudock II this Friday. Present at the maneuver were representatives from Disney Cruise Line, representatives from the shipyard and Captain Minnie Mouse. According to the shipyard, the comic figure attended the maneuver and supported the shipyard captain and the tugs.

The Disney Wish is the third cruise ship that MEYER WERFT is building for the Disney Cruise Line. In 2011 and 2012, the shipyard already delivered the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy to the world's largest entertainment group. Disney previously commissioned Fincantieri shipyard to build two much smaller ships.

After completion, the new building will have a gross tonnage of 144.000. The number of cabins is given as 1.250. The shipyard emphasizes that the Disney Wish will set new standards in the cruise industry. The areas of digital media and stage technology should be remarkable. The Disney Wish is the first of the Disney ships to have low-emission LNG propulsion. The shipyard is building two more ships for Disney Cruise Line. It is still unclear when the Disney Wish will be transferred from the shipyard port to the North Sea.
