September 6, 2023 - This coming weekend, the Free and Hanseatic City will provide insights into the fascinating world of cruising with the brilliantly staged Hamburg Cruise Days. Over the course of three days, hundreds of thousands of visitors see seven ocean-going cruise ships and two river ships. A highlight of the event is the Blue Port.
In 2008 the Hamburg Cruise Days were held for the first time. Alongside the traditional harbor birthday, they are now one of the most popular events in Hamburg. The ninth Hamburg Cruise Days last from September 8th to 10th. Over the three days, nine ships, including seven ocean-going and expedition ships, will be flying their colors in Hamburg. This year the shipping company nicko cruises is represented with two ships, the cruise ship VASCO DA GAMA and the expedition ship WORLD VOYAGER.
The Stuttgart nicko cruises are present in Hamburg with the two ships and an information stand at the Überseebrücke. Sweepstakes, detailed information on nicko cruises' river and high-sea programs and much more await inquisitive visitors.
The light art work "Blue Port Hamburg" staged by the light artist Michael Batz is closely linked to the Hamburg Cruise Days. The light work of art illuminates dozens of buildings, bridges, ships and objects on the edge of the harbour. On September 6th, the first day of the event, the “Rhapsody in Blue” takes place. In the course of this, the port and the VASCO DA GAMA are staged in front of the blue backdrop of the Blue Port Hamburg. Music, moderation and a final firework display accompany the light show.
