November 3rd, 2022 - Next Saturday, November 5th, MEYER WERFT will transfer the latest newbuild on the Ems to Eemshaven in the Netherlands. The technical and nautical tests follow the Ems passage. Then MS Arvia sets course for Bremerhaven, where the handover to P&O Cruises (GB) takes place.

The Arvia is a sister ship to the Iona, which entered service in 2020. The LNG-powered cruise ship has 2.614 cabins on 16 passenger decks. The maximum capacity is 5.200 passengers. 1.800 crew members take care of the well-being of the guests. It can be assumed that the P&O Iona is measured with more than 184.000 GT. At 344 meters, the length of the new building will correspond to that of the sister ship.

As with the Iona, an eye-catcher of the Arvia is the three-storey, light-flooded atrium. Through its lateral glazing, it grants panoramic views of the sea. Another highlight of the ship is the SkyDome. During the day, the roof level with the glass dome roof serves as a pool area; in the evenings it turns into an entertainment area. The ship features four pools and 18 hot tubs. The Arvia has four main and several specialty restaurants. Young passengers between the ages of 2 and 17 use the children's and teens' club "The Reef".

The Arvia manages the journey on the Ems stern first. Two tugs secure the ship during the journey. The team of the Emden Brotherhood of Pilots is responsible for the transfer to Eemshaven. The following schedule applies to the Emspassage, which can be postponed at short notice depending on the weather and tide conditions:
