At the Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami, the MEYER Group is presenting innovative ship concepts that place an emphasis on green technologies and underline its dominant position in the maritime industry.
In focus: climate-neutral cruise ships
The MEYER Group is presenting initiatives for climate-neutral cruise ships for the first time. The NEcOLEAP research project driven by MEYER TURKU aims to develop a climate-neutral cruise ship by 2025 that will float by 2030. The concept of the first ship of this kind, called AVATAR, will be presented at the trade fair. It includes innovative galley concepts with automated logistics, alternative materials and sustainable cabin design that aim to optimize energy efficiency and take the entire product life cycle into account.

Innovative energy management system
The AI-based MEYER energy management system, developed by ALFRED Maritime, supports ship operators in optimizing operational efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. Through accurate performance predictions and forecasts, the novel system helps reduce emissions and minimize environmental impact.
Unique product portfolio for the cruise industry
MEYER will also be presenting its diverse product portfolio for the cruise industry at the trade fair, including floating piers and cruise terminals from MEYER Floating Solutions. A model of the cruise ship Icon of the Seas is shown. The Icon of the Seas, delivered by MEYER TURKU in December 2023, sets standards in modern shipbuilding with features such as the AquaDome, seven pools and six record-breaking water slides. It is not without pride that the group of companies declares that MEYER is the only shipyard able to offer the complete range from river cruise ships to large ocean-going ships such as the Icon of the Seas.
Visionary future concept ORIGIN
As a glimpse of the future, MEYER presents the ORIGIN concept, which is characterized by weather-independent features and an efficient passenger flow. With a forward-looking and asymmetrical design as well as decentralized public areas, ORIGIN promises new passenger experiences and a modern design concept without typical "ship-like" features.
Last but not least
The MEYER Group is continually committed to innovation and strives to transform the cruise industry through green technologies and forward-looking concepts.
