December 11, 2020 - Do the right thing and talk about it. TUI Cruises acts according to this motto. The hygiene concept of the cruise company battered by the COVID-19 pandemic has been certified for Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2. The hygiene certificate was issued by the independent SGS Institute Fresenius.

In detail: The SGS Institut Fresenius based in Taunusstein has issued the Hamburg cruise line with a verified hygiene concept for dealing with COVID-19. The research carried out in autumn 2020 concerned Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2. Auditors had checked all areas on board both ships - from check-in, cabin cleaning, bars & restaurants, kitchen hygiene, public areas, entertainment on board, sports & fitness as well as the on-board hospital - in extensive examinations.

TUI Cruises sees its own hygiene concept confirmed. Last but not least, practice proves the effectiveness of the individual measures. Since the end of July 2020, more than 50 trips with over 45.000 guests have been carried out without incident. Since then, the strict and now verified hygiene concept has applied on board. For example, guests only get on board with a negative test result. TUI Cruises organizes the tests included in the tour price. Mein Schiff 2 is currently sailing in the Canary Archipelago. Mein Schiff 1 will also make trips to the Canary Islands from December 17th.
