Mein Schiff 1 - Time to say goodbye

April 17, 2018 - TUI Cruises is preparing intensively for the takeover of the "new" Mein Schiff 1. As part of the 829th Hamburg port birthday, the new building will be christened on May 11, 2018. - The "old" Mein Schiff 1 has to leave the fleet. It was decommissioned a few days ago in Palma de Mallorca.

Between May 15, 2009 and April 11, 2018, Mein Schiff 1 cast a spell over countless passengers on 3.254 days with its amenities, moments of wellbeing and interesting routes. With the first Mein Schiff 1, TUI Cruises established in addition to AIDA Cruises a second bread-and-butter brand for Germany's fast-growing cruise market.

In the meantime, TUI Cruises has established itself as a German premium provider of cruises with currently six cruise ships and another cruise ship under construction, the "new my ship 1", firmly established in the market. - It all started with Mein Schiff 1. It was originally a Galaxy for Royal Caribbeans premium brand Celebrity Cruises was built. When the people in charge of this brand made the decision to introduce larger ships into the fleet, the former Galaxy could become a successful model as Mein Schiff 1. My ship 1 was set up for 1.924 guests. The new Mein Schiff 1 holds 1.000 more passengers with double occupancy.

Mein Schiff 1 will be closed within the TUI Group Marella Cruises rerouted. The British cruise company formerly known as Thomson Cruises will use the ship in the strong British cruise market after a needs-based conversion.
