News from Mein Schiff 8 – cabin formats

July 14, 2023 – Almost four weeks ago, construction of Mein Schiff 8 began at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. At almost 160.000 GT, the newbuild is significantly larger than Mein Schiff 1 or Mein Schiff 2. Mein Schiff 8 belongs to a new ship ship class.

At the first steel cut, full-bodied statements were made about the ship. TUI Cruises is now providing the first insights into the cabin formats of the new ship class. The good news is that the proportion of balcony cabins has increased significantly in the eighth new build. It is now at 85 percent.

Another piece of news: the experience of the last few years is that solo travelers are increasingly tending towards bookings on cruise ships. Some shipping companies have already followed the trend by bringing single cabins onto the market. This now also applies to TUI Cruises. On the Mein Schiff 7, which is still under construction, single travelers will find suitable inside and outside cabins. Mein Schiff 8 adopts this innovation and expands the offer with balcony cabins for single travelers.

A total of three newbuildings will be put into service by 2026.
