October 5, 2021 - The Stuttgart cruise company nicko cruises is introducing the 2G rule on rivers and seas. The travel provider justifies this measure by saying that a large majority of guests want 2G as a security factor. In addition, the new regulation improves planning security of the operational processes on board the ships.
More and more cruise companies are enforcing the 2G rule on board their ships. This will shortly also apply to nicko cruises. In addition to the current hygiene and infection protection concept, nicko cruises will soon be introducing the so-called 2G rule on its ships. For ocean ship journeys VASCO DA GAMA this condition applies from October 27, 2021; the journeys of the expedition ship WORLD VOYAGER require proof from October 29, 2021. The river trips will follow from November 29, 2021.

The implementation of the 2G measure is understandable. In some of the destinations that nicko cruises' ocean-going ships head for, complete vaccination protection has long been mandatory for holidaymakers entering the country. The same goes for river trips.

All guests over 12 years of age are obliged to present proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 or full recovery at the beginning of the above start dates. Proof of vaccination requires that the vaccine is approved in the EU and a minimum of 14 days must have passed since the last vaccination. Please note that proof of international travel must be provided in digitally readable form. Ideally, the attestation is verified via the CovPass app. A QR code that proves complete vaccination or recovery is mandatory in any case. The yellow vaccination certificate is not sufficient for international travel. The 12G regulation does not apply to children under 2 years of age. Instead, a negative PCR test must be submitted for children in the future. At the time of entry, it must not be older than 72 hours. In addition to the 2G rule, from October 12th, nicko cruises will organize a free antigen rapid test for all guests upon embarkation. In addition, the company's hygiene concept applies without restrictions on the ships.
