August 18, 2021 - In July of this year, VASCO DA GAMA started its service with Baltic Sea cruises for the Stuttgart-based nicko cruises. Today another cruise in the Baltic Sea area starts from the Ostseekai in Kiel. Top destinations are Copenhagen, Stockholm and Tallinn. The 12-night trip ends in Bremerhaven.
The classic cruise ship put into service in 1993 is the former MS Statendam of Holland America Line. In 2015 the ship moved to P&O Australia within the Carnival group. The shipping company used it under the name Pacific Eden. It has been owned by the Portuguese group Mystic Invest since 2020. The company left the ship in Portugal for nicko cruises remodel to European needs. The COVID-19 pandemic delayed use until summer 2021.
