February 18, 2020 - Norwegian Spirit was getting on in years. A major renovation was due. Over the course of 43 days, the almost 22-year-old cruise ship went through an extensive refit program in Marseille, France. Norwegian Cruise Line paid more than $ 100 million for the plastic surgery.
MEYER WERFT in Papenburg built the 269 meter long cruise ship on behalf of the shipping company Star Cruises, Singapore. In 2004 the ship switched to Norwegian Cruise Line. Since then, the ship has received several, more cosmetic treatments. Significant changes have been made as part of the Norwegian Edge® optimization program.
