Oceania Cruises christens first Allura class ship in Malta


May 10, 2023 – Malta is one of the best destinations to christen a first class cruise ship, especially a ship like the Oceania Vista. The new ship, measured at a good 67.000 GT, was commissioned last Monday by the Italian-American chef, author and restaurateur Giada De Laurentiis in front of 1.200 invited guests baptized.

Oceania Vista is Oceania Cruises' seventh cruise ship and the first ship in the newly launched Allura class. It was the company's first ship christening in more than ten years.

After the christening cruise for invited guests, embarks on the maiden voyage from Rome on May 13 (Civitavecchia) after Venice the official ship operation. The Oceania Vista has a market leading per person/crew ratio of 1:1,5. With over 27 square meters of space, the ship also offers the most spacious standard cabins compared to similarly positioned cruise ships. Solo travelers are offered new concierge-level veranda cabins. The veranda cabins set new standards in terms of comfort and luxury in the living area. A variety of facilities aboard Oceania Vista include eight bars, lounges and entertainment venues. Not forgetting the luxurious Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center and the Aquamar Spa Terrace.

Oceania Cruises advertises with the tradition of "Fine cuisine at sea". As a result, the ship has a total of eleven gourmet restaurants, including the Aquamar Kitchen, the Bakery at Baristas and the new signature restaurant Ember. The newly launched Mixology Bar focuses on the art of cocktails. Godmother Giada De Laurentiis creates two signature dishes that are served at Toscana and The Grand Dining Room.
