Princess Cruises has the Sun Princess built by the Italian shipyard group Fincantieri. The cruise ship is being built on a new platform; It is also the largest ship ever built in Italy. For unspecified reasons, delivery of the Sun Princess has been delayed. The consequence: Due to the delayed delivery, the ten-day premiere trip is canceled. Barcelona was planned as the start time port. The date of the first trip was February 8th.
Guests booked on the inaugural voyage will be notified immediately by the cruise line and will receive a full refund of the cruise fare and any additional onboard services purchased in advance. They will also receive a credit equal to 50 percent of the cruise price, which can be used toward a future Princess trip.
