July 31, 2018- The premium cruise line Princess Cruises, based in Santa Clarita / California, will put five newbuildings into service by 2025. The last two new buildings, planned for 2023 and 2025 will be fired with the low-emission liquefied natural gas LNG. In addition, investments are being made gradually in the existing fleet. Most recently, the Princess Sun benefited from the fleet upgrades.
The current 17 older fleet members are undergoing a $ 450 million upgrade program. The measures basically concern visual refreshments. Each of the Princess cruise ships is getting the distinctive hull painting little by little. It connects the sea witch, the company logo, with the waves of the oceans. If necessary, the inner values of the ships are also changed.

The most recently revised cruise ship is the Sun Princess. The 261 meter long ship was built by the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone. In December 1995 it started its maiden voyage. In addition to the hull painting typical of Princess Cruises, the ship received so-called Club Class Suites. In this premium segment, in addition to reserved restaurant areas, suite residents are offered additional menu options and ease of embarkation and disembarkation. A “Camp Discovery Youth & Teen Center” was set up for the young guests. This offer is based on the company's cooperation with the US Discovery Channel.
The make-up was done during a two-month stay in dry dock Singapore, performed. In the meantime, the Sun Princess is again cruising in Asia. In October 2018, it will set off for Australia and New Zealand for the winter season.
