TUI Cruises - Blue cruises with Mein Schiff 2 from July 2020

July 9, 2020- Something's happening at TUI Cruises! The “Blue Journeys” will begin on July 24th, 2020. The starting point is Hamburg. The cruise will be with Mein Schiff 2. Until further notice, 3- and 4- day trips are planned. There are no ports of call and the number of guests on board the ship is limited to a maximum of 60 percent of capacity.

The shipping company advertises full-bodied in letters to regular guests: “The Mein Schiff Fleet is picking up speed again ”. It's not quite like that yet. The shipping company is starting a trial with Mein Schiff 2. The offer is for 3- and 4-day cruises into the blue. Into the blue should mean: The journey starts and ends in Hamburg. The passengers do not see a port during the sea voyage. The premium all-inclusive concept on board is not compromised.

The resumption of travel is based on a 10-point plan. The plan was developed jointly with the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) and the World Health Organization (WHO). In addition, regional specifications and guidelines are taken into account. The main points of the measures are:

Contactless check-in, time slots and up-to-date health questionnaires.

The number of guests is limited to a maximum of 60 percent of normal capacity.

All cabins are disinfected before the guests arrive.

Generous table spaces in restaurants and bars.

Service by crew members at the buffets and beverage stations.

Sun beds are placed on the pool deck at a distance of two meters.

Event programs with a reduced number of participants.

Children's clubs with limited participation of fewer children.

The trips do not correspond to the usual cruise schedule. Cruise fans are likely to be disappointed. But the corona pandemic is far from over; under this condition, the decision to resume TUI Cruises cruises is to be commended.
