After rather subdued booking numbers before Christmas, Cruiseturtle was on board Mein Schiff 6, around 2.000 guests, including hundreds of children, took Mein Schiff 6 from Dubai to the Arabian Peninsula over Christmas. During the course of the voyage, isolated cases of Covid-19 were diagnosed on board the ship during routine examinations. For most of the approximately 2.000 passengers, the trip would have ended as planned on Monday. The consequences of the compulsory break affect those guests who had booked a connecting cruise or those vacationers who were planning to stay in Dubai to board the ship. For guests with a connecting cruise, TUI Cruises is currently trying to arrange the return flights. The compulsory break will initially last until January 10th. If adjustments to the situation are necessary, the shipping company promises to inform its guests in good time.
Mein Schiff 6 practices extended protection measures for Dubai cruises. The 2G model applies. All guests aged twelve and over are fully vaccinated. This also applies to the 800 crew members. The ship's guests are also checked by means of two PCR tests before they leave Germany and when they enter Dubai. The weak point may be the large number of unvaccinated children under the age of twelve. Before starting the New Year's Eve cruise, Mein Schiff 6 expected more than 300 children of all ages on board.
