TUI Cruises' new InTUItion ship class

TUI Cruises' new InTUItion ship class

March 3, 2025 – Hardly a week goes by without hearing “news” about TUI Cruises’ newest ship class. The ships Mein Schiff Relax and Mein Schiff Flow belong to the largest TUI Cruises ship class to date.

Mein Schiff Relax set off yesterday from Palma de Mallorca on a so-called "anticipation voyage" in the Mediterranean. Mein Schiff Flow will join the TUI Cruises fleet next year. With the commissioning of Mein Schiff Relax and Mein Schiff Flow, the capacity of the fleet will increase by 40 percent. No wonder: While the Mein Schiff 7, which was previously commissioned, offers space for 2.896 guests at double occupancy, Mein Schiff Relax can accommodate 3.984 passengers under the same conditions - a third more. Utilizing the ship's capacity requires special sales activities. The bed capacity of all eight fleet ships will increase to around 22.800 with the commissioning of Mein Schiff Relax.

The Hamburg-based shipping company is focusing on "an international cruise experience with a clear German signature". The promise is: Mein Schiff Relax will take the "Mein Schiff feeling" to a new level with enjoyment, freedom, relaxation and moments of well-being. According to TUI Cruises CEO Wybcke Meier, guests from the DACH region in particular, but increasingly also from neighboring European countries, are choosing cruises with Mein Schiff. The shipping company plans to create an international cruise experience with a clear German signature, and is also aiming to attract new customer groups.

Sustainability is the main focus. The company operates one of the youngest fleets in the world. The ships have engines that can also run on lower-emission fuels such as biodiesel and sustainable liquefied gas. The company also plans to use green methanol. Mein Schiff Relax will run almost exclusively on LNG. To reduce emissions, TUI Cruises relies on catalysts, exhaust gas scrubbers and optimized routing.

The ship has 14 restaurants & bistros as well as 17 bars & lounges. In addition, the new ship class offers three staircases and 18 elevators. These increase the elevator capacity of the existing fleet members by 80 percent.
