TUI Cruises unveils seven highlights of Mein Schiff 7

November 8, 2022 – MEYER Turku shipyard is building the new Mein Schiff 7. Production of the 1.447 cabin ship started in June this year. The new building, around 316 meters long, will go into service in 2024. The sister ship of Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2 is the first of three new ships that will complete the Mein Schiff fleet by 2026.

As before, TUI Cruises is focusing on the much-cited feeling of well-being with the new building. Following the ongoing trend towards single trips, twelve single inside cabins and fourteen single outside cabins will be installed on Mein Schiff 7 for the first time. In and of itself this is nothing new; NCL did it a long time ago. The cabins are eight square meters. TUI Cruises speaks of plenty of storage space and a spacious shower and "unique feel-good atmosphere".

With regard to the drive, the shipping company is committed to environmentally friendly and climate-neutral cruises: The new building is operated with low-emission marine diesel (sulphur content: 0,1%) and is equipped with catalytic converters (nitrogen oxide reduction: around 75%) and a shore power connection for times in port. The engine technology allows the ship to be operated with methanol and – in the future – with green methanol. Green methanol, provided that it is obtained from renewable energies, is considered a climate-friendly fuel that makes ship propulsion systems almost completely free of carbon dioxide.

In addition, Mein Schiff 7 will receive more efficient waste processing. An innovative system shreds organic waste through thermal treatment and prepares the waste for further use on land.

Other news concerns the restaurant scene on board the ship. Ship guests experience a new café on the 5th deck. At the stern, in the Große Freiheit of Mein Schiff 7, a new Asia & Sushi restaurant is being built. Guests can also look forward to a new "Italian". TUI Cruises promises top-class Italian specialties.

On deck 6, passengers can expect a new, outstanding sun deck with selected lounge furniture. Mein Schiff 7's Abtanz Bar will feature slot machines and a live table.

The journeys on Mein Schiff 7 will be bookable in the near future.
