Two more Celebrity Cruises ships go into operation

November 9, 2021 - The Celebrity Reflection and the Celebrity Constellation will initially be deployed in the Caribbean. Ten celebrity ships are currently sailing the world's oceans. The recently named Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Edge are offering new courses for children and teenagers

With the Celebrity Reflection from Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean

Celebrity Reflection's home port is Fort Lauderdale. The ship offers one-week tours to the Bahamas (Nassau and Bimini) and Mexico - stops are planned in Puerto Costa Maya and Cozumel. Some trips through the western Caribbean lead to Roatán, an island belonging to Honduras, as well as to Belize City. Other week-long cruises with Celebrity Reflection dock in Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and the Dominican Republic.

The “Ultimate Southern Caribbean Voyage” lasts eleven days with stops in Santa Croix (US Virgin Islands), Saint John's (Antigua), Saint George's (Grenada), Roseau (Dominica) and Basseterre (St. Kitts & Nevis).

Tour the Caribbean with the Celebrity Constellation from Tampa

The Celebrity Constellation will be stationed in Tampa, Florida. The eleven-day “Eastern Caribbean Voyage” takes you to San Juan (Puerto Rico), Philipsburg (St. Maarten), Basseterre (St. Kitts & Nevis), Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas) and Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic).

The route to the west takes twelve days with stops in Roatán (Honduras), Cartagena (Colombia), Colón (Panama), Puerto Limón (Costa Rica) and Cozumel (Mexico). The ship even stays on the Colombian Caribbean coast for two full days. The ABC islands will be headed for on another twelve-day route with the Celebrity Constellation.

Both the Celebrity Reflection and the Celebrity Constellation will be in the Mediterranean in summer 2022. The Celebrity Reflection runs mainly between Civitavecchia and Barcelona. Ravenna, between Venice and Rimini on the Adriatic Sea, will be the home port of the Celebrity Constellation. From here it goes to several Greek destinations.

Celebrity Apex ceremonially christened in Fort Lauderdale

The Celebrity Apex, the second ship in the Edge class, has been owned by Celebrity Cruises since March 2020. Due to the corona pandemic, operations did not start until mid-June this year. Initially, a summer season in the eastern Mediterranean was on the program. After the transatlantic crossing, the Celebrity Apex will now depart from / to Fort Lauderdale and set course for Caribbean destinations. Before the current Caribbean season, the ship was ceremonially christened.

Godmother is Reshma Saujani, founder of "Girls Who Code", a non-profit organization that works to close the gender gap in the field of programming and to offer young women opportunities in the traditionally male-dominated technology sector. Reshma Saujani became the first Indian-American woman to run for Congress in 2010. She is also the bestselling author of the book “Brave, not perfect”: Why boys are allowed to fail and girls have to do everything right. Reshma Saujani was made by Forbes named as one of the most influential women - “Most Powerful Women Changing the World”.

New "Girls Who Code at Sea" courses for children and teenagers

The godmother and Celebrity Cruises will even expand their collaboration. In honor of the work of Reshma Saujani, the shipping company will offer entertaining, interactive beginner programming courses for children aged 6 to 17 as part of its “Camp at Sea” program. You can design and develop two modules based on basic computer science and coding modules on topics related to marine life and bioluminescence. The "Girls Who Code at Sea" courses are now taking place on board the Celebrity Apex and the Celebrity Edge.

The Celebrity Apex also sails in the Caribbean

Celebrity Cruises' newest ship will be offering weeklong cruises across the Caribbean for the next six months. Celebrity Apex stops in the western Caribbean including Belize, Cozumel in Mexico and Grand Cayman, the largest of the Cayman Islands. The eastern route stops in San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, and Tortola, British Virgin Islands. The Celebrity Apex will start its transatlantic crossing on April 30, 2022. The ship is expected in Amsterdam on May 14th, the new home port for the coming summer season.
