MSC World America from Miami

Miami is one of the world's most important cruise ports and an ideal starting point for Caribbean cruises. An MSC World America cruise from Miami can be easily combined with a pre- or post-cruise program in Florida – for example, with South Beach, Downtown Miami, Brickell, the Everglades, or a stay in Fort Lauderdale.

MSC World America and Ocean Cay

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve is MSC Cruises' private island in the Bahamas. For many guests, a stay there is a highlight of their trip. The beach, turquoise waters, short distances, and the evening atmosphere around the lighthouse perfectly complement the Caribbean concept of MSC World America.

Eastern Caribbean with the MSC World America

Depending on the itinerary, cruises to the Eastern Caribbean may focus on destinations such as Puerto Plata, San Juan, or Ocean Cay. These trips combine beach days, colonial history, Caribbean old towns, and relaxing days at sea.

Western Caribbean with the MSC World America

Western Caribbean itineraries, depending on the date, include destinations such as Mexico, Honduras, or the Bahamas. Ports like Costa Maya, Cozumel, or Roatán are particularly interesting for beach excursions, snorkeling, Mayan culture, and independent shore excursions.

Highlights on board the MSC World America

The ship itself is an important part of the journey. We were particularly impressed by the open World Promenade, the family and action area The Harbour, Jaw Drop @ The Spiral, Adventure Trail, Cliffhanger, and the large pool parties.

Restaurants and bars on the MSC World America

The MSC World America offers a wide selection of included restaurants, buffets, specialty restaurants, bars, and cafés. During our 14-night cruise, the included meals were so sufficient that we didn't book any specialty restaurants.

There are also noticeable differences among the bars. The Gin Project, Masters of the Sea, and the All-Stars Sports Bar were among our favorites on board.

Cabins on the MSC World America: Which category is right for you?

When booking, cabin selection plays a particularly important role. On the MSC World America, cabins differ not only in their orientation (inside, ocean view, and balcony), but also in their balcony type, view, privacy, and location. Therefore, we wouldn't recommend booking based solely on price.

Inside cabin

Inside cabins are the cheapest option, but they seemed rather compact during our visits. They are best suited if you mainly use the cabin for sleeping and showering.

Cabin with sea view

An ocean-view cabin offers natural light and a view outside. On the MSC World America, there are also modern cabin concepts such as Infinite Ocean View cabins with opening windows.

Balcony cabin

When it comes to balcony cabins, you should take a close look: there are classic ocean-view balconies, promenade balcony cabins, balconies with opaque steel railings, and terrace cabins. The differences in view and privacy are significant.

MSC Yacht Club

The MSC Yacht Club offers exclusive suites, private areas, butler and concierge service, priority procedures and additional services for guests with high comfort requirements.

Who would benefit from an MSC World America cruise?

The MSC World America is particularly well-suited for guests who enjoy large ships, numerous restaurants and bars, parties, leisure activities, and an international onboard atmosphere. Families will find an exceptionally wide range of options, but adults without children will also find plenty to choose from, including bars, restaurants, pools, a spa, fitness facilities, and activities.

The ship is less suitable for guests who expect short distances, peace and quiet, or many secluded public areas. Its size offers variety, but also means long walking distances and a lively environment in many areas.

  • A good fit: Families, couples, multi-generational travelers, action fans and guests who enjoy large ships
  • Strengthen: World Promenade, a wide selection of restaurants and bars, entertainment, pools and leisure activities
  • Note: long distances, few truly quiet public areas, and a strongly international onboard life
  • Caribbean from Miami: Eastern and western routes including Ocean Cay and other popular ports

Tips for booking the MSC World America

1. Plan flight and overnight stay beforehand

For cruises departing from Miami, it is often advisable to arrive at least one day before embarkation. This allows enough time for flights, immigration, luggage, and transfers to the port.

2. Choose the route deliberately

Eastern and western Caribbean routes differ significantly. Those seeking more beach days and an island atmosphere should carefully compare the specific ports of call. Those who prefer culture, snorkeling, or Mayan sites will often find suitable excursions on western routes.

On a large ship like the MSC World America, the location of the cabin is important. Those who prefer short distances to elevators, pool decks, family areas, restaurants, or the MSC Yacht Club should take a closer look at the deck plan before booking.

4. Compare additional services

Beverage packages, internet access, specialty restaurants, excursions, and service charges may vary depending on the tariff and offer. A close look at the included services will help with price comparison.
