Cabin overview
Balcony cabins

Costa Toscana balcony cabin at sunset
The Balcony cabins The Costa Toscana hotels are designed in a clear, modern, and Italian style. Depending on the category, they are mostly priced at around 14-20m² They include a balcony and are designed for two to a maximum of four people.
The cabins on middle decks (e.g. in the Livorno/Deck 14 area) are well positioned from a practical point of view: close to central areas, without being permanently disturbed by the hustle and bustle of the show and pool areas.
Features (typical balcony cabin):
- Dorelan mattresses and high-quality pillows for restful sleep
- Approximately 40-inch flat-screen TV with on-board entertainment
- modern, straightforward design in bright, contemporary colors
- individually adjustable air conditioning
- Safe (19,5 cm x 33 cm x 14,5 cm), large enough for travel documents and small devices
- USB ports and power outlets by the bed and desk, respectively.
- Hair dryer (integrated in the drawer of the dressing table)
- small seating area with sofa (depending on the category, also usable as a sleeping option)
- Balcony with two chairs and a small table
Special feature of the shower
A striking feature of the Costa Toscana balcony cabins is the Shower with glass wall to the cubicle.
It provides more natural light, a more spacious feel, and – with the curtain open – a view of the sea. The central section of the window is frosted, and a curtain can also be completely closed. The solution is visually appealing and functionally well-designed, as long as all passengers are familiar with the concept.
Storage space: modern look, little space
In everyday use, it becomes apparent that the reduced design comes at the expense of storage capacity:
- Limited closet space for longer trips or extensive wardrobes
- The desk only has two drawers.
- Bedside tables merely serve as small shelves without additional storage space.
Compared to some older Costa ships and competitors, the storage concept seems less generous. The excellent sleeping comfort, the well-designed bathroom, and the lighting concept remain positive aspects.
Outside cabins with sea view
The outside cabins with sea views are largely identical in layout and amenities to the balcony cabins, except for the absence of a private balcony. They also feature a shower with a glass partition separating it from the cabin. A large window – some with an integrated bench seat as shown in the photo – or a large porthole provides ample natural light and a direct view of the sea or the harbor facilities.
Those who appreciate a sea view but can do without a balcony will find a suitable alternative here. The well-known strength – good sleeping comfort – and the weakness – limited storage space – apply equally.

Costa Toscana outside cabin
Terrace cabins with sea view
The terrace cabins with sea views are similar in layout and amenities to the balcony cabins, but offer a significantly larger outdoor area. The terrace is deeper, partially covered, and reminiscent of a small conservatory. This creates a more spacious feel with more room for sun loungers and seating – attractive for guests who want to spend a lot of time in their private outdoor space.
An important note regarding the location:
The terrace cabins 8001 – 8010 their terrace borders directly on the Infinity Walk These cabins are located on deck 8 and are easily visible from there. Those who value privacy should consider these cabin numbers when booking and perhaps opt for other terrace or balcony cabins.

Inside cabins
The Inside cabins The cabins on the Costa Toscana differ significantly from the outside and balcony cabins. They are noticeably more compact and lack natural light entirely. The colorful wall design, the upholstered headboard, and the modern lighting are based on the style of the larger cabins and create a welcoming atmosphere despite the absence of windows.
The furnishings and quality level (Dorelan mattresses, TV, air conditioning, USB and power outlets, safe, functional bathroom) are essentially the same as in the other standard categories.
Inside cabins are therefore primarily an option for price-conscious guests who mainly use their cabin for sleeping and can consciously live with the lack of a sea view.

Costa Toscana inside cabin
Suites and Grand Suites
The suites on board the Costa Toscana are significantly larger than the standard cabins and offer noticeably more comfort. Depending on the category (Suite, Grand Suite, and variations), the living space ranges – depending on the source and layout – from approximately 27 to over 50 m², each with a large balcony or veranda.
Characteristic features include:
- significantly expanded cupboard and storage space
- spacious balconies with room for loungers and seating
- Upgraded bathrooms with larger showers, some with double vanity or bathtub (depending on type)
- higher quality coffee and minibar equipment
- Prioritized embarkation and disembarkation
- Additional services up to and including a personal contact person (depending on category and tariff)
Access to the Bellavista Restaurant, the reserved dining area for suite guests, with a quieter atmosphere and upgraded menu.
Some of the Grand Suites feature a clearly separated sleeping and living area, while other suite categories are designed as large, open-plan studios. What they all have in common is a significant difference compared to the compact inside, outside, and balcony cabins: more space, more privacy, and a noticeably more exclusive overall package for guests willing to pay the premium.
Barrier-free cabins
The Costa Toscana offers accessible cabins in various categories – including inside cabins, ocean-view cabins, and balcony cabins. These cabins are specially designed for guests with reduced mobility or wheelchair users and differ significantly from standard cabins in several ways.
Typical features of accessible cabins:
- Automatic door opening after card recognition for convenient, effortless access.
- Widened doors and generous maneuvering areas to allow wheelchairs to be easily maneuvered.
- Balconies accessible at ground level (in barrier-free balcony cabins), without a disruptive edge between the interior and exterior.
- Lowered dressing tables, light switches and clothes racks that are easily accessible while seated or from a wheelchair.
- Walk-in shower with non-slip floor, fold-down shower seat and grab bars
- Emergency call system and additional safety devices in the bathroom and sleeping area
These cabins offer significantly better accessibility for guests with reduced mobility than standard cabins. As the number of accessible cabins is limited and the features may vary slightly depending on the cabin number, early booking is recommended.
Gastronomy - Restaurants & Food
The Costa Toscana offers a comprehensive range of dining options, from classic sit-down restaurants and upscale fine-dining concepts to modern food outlets. The ship's culinary philosophy blends Italian tradition with international flair, catering to diverse preferences and budgets.

The buffet restaurants offer maximum flexibility and are fully included in the travel price.
La Sagra dei Sapori (Deck 8)
The flagship buffet restaurant of the Costa Toscana spans two separate sides – port and starboard – which alleviates the classic problem of buffet queues. The selection is generous, covering everything from breakfast and lunch to dinner. Interestingly, the offerings on each side differ slightly, making it worthwhile to visit both.
Squok Family Buffet (Deck 16)
It is intentionally designed for families with young children up to 6 years old – access is also controlled. The buffet offers child-friendly food and benefits from spacious window seats with optimal views. This alternative to the dimly lit restaurants at the stern is particularly valuable at breakfast. The service is consistently attentive; staff quickly get to know guests and anticipate their needs.

Squok Restaurant
Main restaurants: The heart of daily gastronomy
The five main restaurants on the Costa Toscana, along with the buffet restaurant, provide the basic dining options and are included in the cruise price. They operate on a rotating menu system with daily changing menus, ensuring variety throughout the entire cruise. Depending on the ship's occupancy, the main restaurants are also available for breakfast, lunch, and snacks in addition to dinner – a flexible solution that provides relief and additional choices, especially when the ship is fully booked.
Culinary quality of the main restaurants
The food in the sit-down restaurants is among the absolute highlights of the Costa Toscana. The chefs masterfully combine regional Italian classics – pasta, risotto, fish dishes – with international standards. The portions are generous, the freshness of the ingredients is evident, and the technical execution is top-notch. The dishes maintain a high standard of quality, making every evening meal a true delight.
La Maremma (Deck 6)
It is the largest and most prominent of the main restaurants. With its expansive windows, it offers breathtaking sea views, creating a special dining experience even at breakfast. The restaurant's size is impressive, allowing it to accommodate guests even when the ship is at full capacity.
L'Oliveto (Deck 5)
This restaurant caters to those who prefer a more elegant and intimate atmosphere. Its modern decor and sophisticated ambiance make it the first choice for guests who wish to enjoy dinner in a tranquil setting. Despite its exclusivity, this restaurant is also open to all passengers.
Le Anfore (Deck 6)
It complements the portfolio of main restaurants and serves the same menu as the other full-service restaurants. It functions as additional capacity and offers the same high-quality service and identical food selection.
Il Vigneto Osteria (Deck 7, Stern)
Breaking with the classic restaurant format, Il Vigneto Osteria offers a relaxed atmosphere in the style of an Italian trattoria. Its location at the stern of the ship also makes it a popular meeting place. Il Vigneto Osteria has the longest breakfast hours on board. Unfortunately, you are not allowed to take your breakfast to the adjacent Infinity Bar.

Costa Toscana - Il Vigneto Osteria
L'Argentario (Deck 6)
Reserved for Costa Club members with Gold or Platinum status. This exclusive access creates a feeling of specialness for status members and generally offers a quieter atmosphere with a higher level of service.
Specialty restaurants: Culinary highlights at an extra charge
For guests who prefer fine dining or specialized cuisine, the Costa Toscana offers several specialty restaurants that can be booked for an extra charge.
Archipelago (Deck 7)
It is the ship's fine-dining flagship. The restaurant presents menus inspired by renowned top chefs such as Bruno Barbieri, Hélène Darroze, and Ángel León. With limited seating, reservations are not only recommended but often necessary. The restaurant offers an upscale dining experience with a correspondingly elevated standard of service.
Bellavista (Deck 8)
It embodies exclusivity in a different way: The restaurant is reserved for suite guests and passengers with certain Costa Club status levels. It combines upscale international and Italian cuisine with a feeling of privilege and accessibility reserved for select guests.

Costa Toscana Bellavista Restaurant
Teppanyaki (Deck 8)
Bringing Japanese show cooking on board. Guests sit at the iron plate where their food is prepared live – a culinary spectacle that transforms dining into an experience. The combination of freshness, visibility of the preparation, and the element of performance makes this restaurant a popular attraction.
Pizzeria Pummid'Oro (Deck 8)
This is the perfect destination for pizza lovers. The restaurant boasts a stone oven and offers up to 19 different Neapolitan pizza varieties, all handcrafted. A bonus: The MyItalian gourmet package includes one pizza per person per trip. View the Pizzeria Pummid'Oro menu as a PDF.
Sushino at Costa (Deck 7)
It specializes in Asian cuisine with a focus on sushi and small Asian snacks. The menu is intentionally concise, which emphasizes the quality and freshness of the ingredients.
Bistros and food outlets
A growing trend on modern cruise ships is the use of specialized food outlets and bistros offering quick or specialty meals. The Costa Toscana has developed a diverse portfolio in this area.
Carlsberg Club & Bistro (Deck 7)
Positioned as a premium pub concept, it offers high-quality hamburgers, steaks, nachos, and a wide selection of beers, appealing primarily to guests who prefer uncomplicated yet high-quality food in a convivial atmosphere. Live music in the evenings transforms the venue into a social hub. Draft beer specialties are included in the MyItalian package.
Infinity Bar – The Place of Dreams
Food LAB (Deck 8)
It represents an innovative concept: The restaurant is simultaneously a cooking school and an event venue. Guests can not only eat here, but also participate in culinary workshops or experience special events. This combination of food and experience clearly distinguishes the Food LAB from traditional restaurants.
Ferrari Spazio Bollicine (Deck 8)
Specializing in Italian sparkling wines, particularly Ferrari Trentodoc, this wine bar offers a range of dishes paired with fine food. It caters to guests who appreciate premium beverage experiences and good food. Some drinks are included in the MyItalian gourmet package.

Ferrari Spazio Bollicine
The Salty Beach Street Food (Deck 16)
It brings culinary casualness to the pool. With burgers, focaccia, and various snacks, it caters to the appetites of guests who prefer quick, uncomplicated meals between main courses or at night. Surprisingly, this service comes at an extra charge.
Kiki Poke (Deck 17)
It capitalizes on the global trend of poke bowls – Hawaiian bowls filled with raw fish, vegetables, and sauce. Located right by the pool area, it's ideal for guests who want to dine al fresco and enjoy light, fresh food.
Nutella at Costa (Deck 17)
It appeals especially to children and sweets lovers. Its specialization in Nutella crêpes and similar desserts makes it a popular spot for families and a highlight for the youngest passengers.

Nutella at Costa
Gelateria Amarillo (Deck 8 & 17)
It has two locations – a deliberate placement to offer guests access to Italian gelato throughout the ship. The gelato quality is remarkably good. Two scoops per person are included as often as they like in the MyItalian indulgence package. Additionally, a small ice cream cart occasionally appears on the outer decks (depending on the route, events, and weather).
Green Healthy Food @Costa (Deck 18)
Responding to the growing demand for healthy, light options, the menu includes wraps, salads, and fresh fruit. It's the ideal snack station for guests looking for a healthy alternative between meals.
Conclusion: A well-rounded world of culinary delights on board
The Costa Toscana presents itself as a ship with a diverse culinary portfolio. From inclusive sit-down restaurants to premium specialty restaurants, from family-friendly buffet options to upscale sushi bars – the selection is broad and well-conceived. The quality of the food is particularly impressive in the main restaurants and fine-dining options. The numerous bistros and food outlets offer flexibility for guests with varying time constraints and tastes. Thus, the Costa Toscana establishes itself as a ship where culinary diversity is not only broad but also deep.

The Leonardo Grand Bar is one of the largest lounges on board and is also located on deck 6. It serves as the ship's classic and most important social hotspot, especially in the evenings.
With its spacious seating areas, stage, and dance floor, Leonardo impresses with its generous space. Live music, dancing, and entertainment characterize the evening's program. The Il Mattino Bar is located near the reception and shops. Its offerings range from coffee and aperitifs to cocktails, making it a convenient all-rounder.
Its location makes it ideal for a quick stop or meeting point before excursions or dinner. A functional bar with a solid selection, less theatrical than the branded bars, but very practical and reliable.

Il Mattino Bar
Campari Bar – The Aperitif Specialist
The Campari Bar is one of the most distinctive bars on the Costa Toscana. Its clean, modern red design creates a memorable visual identity. The focus is consistently on Campari, Aperol, and various Spritz drinks. Served in the appropriate glass, of course.
This is the perfect spot for a pre-dinner aperitif or a classic Italian drink in the evening. For many guests – and for us too – an Aperol or Campari Spritz is a cherished ritual here. The best and most stylish Aperol or Campari Spritz on board.
Granducato Bar
The Granducato Bar is located on Deck 7, port side, between the Colosseo and the Casino. Live music is regularly performed on a small stage in the evenings; stools are available at the bar, and you'll also find comfortable seating areas at tables. It's an ideal meeting place before or after the shows.
Carlsberg Club & Bistro – The pub alternative
The Carlsberg Club & Bistro (formerly Heineken Star Club & Bistro) brings an authentic pub atmosphere to the table. The focus is on Carlsberg draft beers (including Grimbergen and Carlsberg Elephant). There is often live music, and the atmosphere is sporty and relaxed.

Infinity Bar – The Place of Dreams
The Infinity Bar at the stern of Deck 7 is one of the most beautiful outdoor areas on the Costa Toscana. With its open lounge, views of the wake, modern seating, adjacent infinity whirlpools, and relaxing music, it creates an atmosphere that is unparalleled.
It's ideal for sundowners, quiet conversations, and photos with an ocean view. It complements the entertainment in the beach club with suitable drinks, but is less of a standard bar that is open permanently.

Aperol Spritz Bar at the Beach Club
La Spiaggia Beach Bar – The Indoor Pool Place
The La Spiaggia Beach Bar is located in the covered La Spiaggia area and serves soft drinks, cocktails, and simple mixed drinks to the indoor pool area. Its location under the glass roof means it can also be used in inclement weather.

Deck 17: Outdoor area and ice cream
Aperol Spritz Bar (Outdoor Area)
On deck 17 there is another Aperol Spritz bar in an open-air setting overlooking the pool and sun deck. Depending on the time of day and the program, the bar may feature a DJ or live music.
It is particularly suitable for guests who appreciate aperitifs in a relaxed open-air atmosphere.
Gelateria Amarillo (Deck 17) – The second location
The second Gelateria Amarillo is located in the upper pool area, serving ice cream sales close to the sun deck and family zones. This is convenient for guests spending the day outdoors. Combined with its location on Deck 8, Amarillo ensures that ice cream is always easily accessible on board.

Costa Toscana - Gelateria Amarillo (Deck 17)
Deck 18: Peace, views and adults-only style
Versilia Bar
The Versilia Bar serves the Versilia pool and sun deck area on Deck 18 with classic pool bar drinks – cocktails, long drinks, and refreshments. The location is often a bit quieter than the central pool areas.
It is particularly suitable for guests who are looking for a drink in a relaxed atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of the indoor pool.
Horizon Bar – The Horizon Classic
The Orizzonte Bar is located at the stern of Deck 18, overlooking the ship's wake – a spectacular vantage point. With its stylistically minimalist, open design, it is conceptually understated. The Orizzonte Bar is not regularly open on all voyages; its availability depends partly on the season or occupancy.
When open, the Orizzonte Bar is one of the most impressive viewpoints on board.

Horizonte Bar
Overall classification of bars & cafes
Overall, the Costa Toscana offers a significantly more diverse range of bars and cafes:
Colosseo & Center (Deck 6-8): Lively meeting places with branded establishments such as Caffè Vergnano, Campari Bar, Ferrari Spazio Bollicine and Kartell Café. This is where upscale bar culture and brand orientation are concentrated.
Deck 7 Stern & Deck 18: Particularly attractive outdoor areas (Infinity & Orizzonte, Versilia Bar) offer sea views and quieter moments – insider tips for those seeking peace and quiet.
Beach Club & Pool Zones (Deck 16-17): More dependent on events and weather, with Aperol Spritz Bars and La Spiaggia Beach Bar as part of the party and entertainment concept.
The bar scene on the Costa Toscana is diverse and boasts a vibrant atmosphere. Those wishing to fully experience the Costa Toscana should consciously take advantage of the mix of central meeting points and more hidden bars – a well-thought-out bar concept catering to a wide range of tastes.
One point of criticism deserves mention: The opening hours of the outdoor bars could be more generous. Currently, the Infinity Bar is the only outdoor bar that offers drinks later in the evening – however, this has the disadvantage that the drinks are not covered by the MyItalian dining package and additional charges apply.

The Colosseum - The central main stage
The three-story Colosseo, with its LED walls, is the flagship of the ship's entertainment infrastructure. Here, a breathtaking spectacle of acrobatics, musical performances, dance, and interactive formats unfolds daily. The technical equipment is state-of-the-art; the stage has a professional and high-quality feel.
Popular events like "The Voice of the Sea" fill up quickly – and that's no surprise. In our experience, arriving 45–50 minutes early is advisable for good seats. Those who arrive later will find themselves in the back rows or have to stand. A practical tip: Reservations are not possible; it's "first come, first served." The best strategy is to sit down early, grab a drink, and wait for the show.
Variety of programs: The shows change daily and range from classic musical parodies to acrobatic performances. The standard is consistently professional.
Visitor tip: Those who want absolute premium seats should arrive 60 minutes in advance – especially for the big evening productions.
Poltrona Frau Arena - The event arena
Named after the Italian design label Poltrona Frau, the Arena is a multifunctional space that serves completely different purposes during the day and in the evening. During the day, it hosts quizzes, game shows, and bingo – in a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. In the evening, the Arena transforms into a show venue and later into a club.
The themed evenings we attended were professionally staged and very well attended – creating a real club atmosphere. The sound and lighting system is excellent, and the choreography of the presenters and performers is well thought out. A real highlight for anyone looking for a party atmosphere on board!
From 23:30 pm onwards, club events usually take place – revival parties, themed evenings, and dance events with DJs. These events have a different energy than the earlier shows: more intense, more exuberant, more club-like.
Piazza del Campo - The open-air event arena
Piazza del Campo – Open-air entertainment
The Piazza del Campo is one of the most unique places on board and serves as an open-air entertainment area overlooking the ship's wake. A continuous program runs here throughout the day, which varies depending on the itinerary.
Daily events and activities:
Events are regularly held in the Piazza del Campo during the trip:
- Group matches: During the day, various group games and team competitions take place – ideal for guests who want to get to know each other.
- Dance classes: Free dance classes in various styles (Salsa, Merengue, etc.) are offered regularly.
- Destination-specific events: Depending on the ship's itinerary, there are special SEA DESTINATIONS events. Examples:
- "Pelagos Sanctuary – Echoes of Whales and Dolphins": During trips through the Mediterranean, a themed event about the protected area.
- “Ibiza Bay Sunset Party”: During stops in Ibiza, an elegant sunset party in beach club style.
Piazza del Campo is the place where the ship showcases its local flair – the program is dynamic and tailored to the ship's geographical position.

Piazza del Campo - SEA DESTINATIONS Event: Pelagos Sanctuary – Echoes of Whales and Dolphins
Beach Club - Special Events
White Night at the Beach Club – a production from another world
The White Night at the Beach Club is one of the emotional highlights of the Costa Toscana and an example of well-thought-out event management. The concept is simple, yet effective: almost all guests dressed in white, show acts, professional lighting, ice sculptures – a very harmonious overall production.
What makes White Night so special? It's the overall experience. The sight of hundreds of guests dressed in white against colorful lights, the DJ performance, the ice sculptures – it creates a surreal, festive atmosphere that lingers in the memory.
Silent party with headphones – a matter of taste with a cultural twist
The silent disco with headphones is a special format on board. On the trip we experienced, the musical separation of the channels was less clear, and an animator was very present. This didn't quite match our idea of a "classic" silent disco, but it was very well received by many Italian guests.
Grand Bar Leonardo – Live music and upscale nightlife
The Grand Bar Leonardo is not only the largest bar on board, but also a regular venue for live music events and special dance parties. With spacious seating areas, a stage, and a dance floor, the Leonardo impresses with its diverse program. The offerings change daily: live bands, DJ sets, and special dance events depending on the day's theme. On our voyage, separate dance sessions were also offered during White Night, which explicitly included older guests. With table service and an excellent selection of cocktails and long drinks, the Grand Bar Leonardo is the classic evening meeting place.
Costa Toscana's nightlife: From live music to quiet bars

Poltrona Frau Arena theme party
Overall, the Costa Toscana offers an impressive selection of nightlife options in the evening. The range is broad:
Live music venues: The Carlsberg Club & Bistro is a well-established venue for live bands and live music. With draft beer and a pub atmosphere, it's the place for everyone who prefers to experience music acoustically and analogously.
DJ sets and themed nights: The Poltrona Frau Arena and various bars offer DJ sets, themed nights, and spontaneous dance sessions. The quality of the DJ work is consistently solid.
Theme parties: Themed evenings are a regular part of the program and are professionally executed. From white to red, from tropical to 70s – the events are well thought out.
Quiet bars with sea views: Especially for those who want to relax in the evening: The Infinity Bar at the stern of Deck 7 or the Orizzonte Bar offer quiet, atmospheric alternatives. A drink with a view of the ship's wake is often the true highlight of the evening.
Overall impression: An impressively staged adventure world at sea.
The Costa Toscana knows how to entertain its guests in the evenings – with a clear focus on animation and events – offering plenty of options for those who enjoy this kind of activity, while those seeking peace and quiet will find suitable retreats. The shows are high-quality, the parties lively, and the bars cozy. The timing is well-planned: a breakfast program (quizzes, bingo), afternoon highlights (acrobatic shows), evening shows (grand shows), and late-night club events.
The quality of the staging is particularly impressive – whether it's a White Night or a Revival Party, an acrobatic show or a themed evening: everything appears professional and is implemented with great effort.
Those seeking a lively ship with excellent entertainment will be delighted with the Costa Toscana. Those who prefer a more tranquil atmosphere should make use of the quieter bars and decks, as the main areas are consistently busy throughout the evenings. Overall, however, the Costa Toscana offers something for every type of evening, and that is its greatest strength.

There were no printed programs on our trip; menus, opening hours and the daily program were exclusively available via the app.
This was very clear for us, but very cumbersome in everyday life.
During peak times (buffet at 8-9 am, Colosseo shows, sea days at the pool) it can get significantly more crowded.
Flexible meal times, early starts for shows (45-60 minutes beforehand) and the choice of quieter outdoor areas ensure a relaxed atmosphere.
No. The selection is limited between breakfast and lunchtime, as well as late at night – please factor this into your daily planning.
For the main restaurants, you will be assigned a fixed dining time in the evening anyway.
Therefore, you only need to make a reservation for the specialty restaurants (e.g. Archipelago, Teppanyaki) – simply to ensure that you actually get a seat there.
Outdoor bars sometimes close earlier, depending on the weather and route.
For late drinks outside on deck, the Infinity Bar is often the most reliable option – note: drinks there are not included in the MyItalian package.
