Mein Schiff 7 – TUI Cruises' penultimate new build
In June 2024 – five years after the commissioning of the almost identical Mein Schiff 2 – Mein Schiff 7 was launched in Kiel The new addition stands like Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2 for a new, larger generation of ships from Hamburg-based TUI Cruises. At first glance, the ships look like two peas in a pod. The three cruise ships are each 316 meters long and almost 36 meters wide. The bed capacity is given as 2.896 guest beds for double occupancy. One new feature is the single cabins inside and outside. Like its predecessors, the ship was built by the Finnish MEYER TURKU shipyard. In March 2025, Mein Schiff Relax, the first ship in the significantly larger InTUItion ship class, entered service.

Familiar and indispensable included restaurants
The Mein Schiff fleet has always stood for the premium all-inclusive concept. All restaurants included in the price offer the high quality that TUI Cruises is known for. Passengers are particularly familiar with the two versions of the main restaurants, Atlantik "Klassik" (Deck 3) and Atlantik "Mediterranean" (Deck 4), as well as the Anckelmannsplatz buffet restaurant with the attached bakery (both Deck 12). These dining options are supported by other restaurants included in the travel price.
The two tried and tested, well-organized full-service restaurants, Atlantik Klassik and Atlantik Mediterran, are located on decks 3 and 4. Together they can accommodate more than 1.000 guests at the same time and at maximum capacity.
The quality and quantity of the food on offer satisfied the guests. However, we miss a more intensive focus on Mediterranean specialties at the Atlantic Mediterranean. There is still a lot of room for improvement in this regard.
Ganz Schön Gesund – Bistro – Deck 5
One attraction is the Ganz Schön Gesund bistro. It is located amidships on deck 5 and offers indoor and outdoor seating. The name says it all. The restaurant focuses on light, healthy food. Some of the dishes and drinks incur an additional charge.
Day & Night - Bistro
The Day & Night Bistro is located opposite the Ganz Schön Gesund Bistro on the starboard side. This self-service bistro is open around the clock. It serves regional and international snacks to satisfy those who are a little hungry between meals. The food is served from an improvised food truck. The Day & Night Bistro also has an outdoor area.
Bosphorus - snack bar
The Bosporus snack bar on deck 12 next to the indoor pool does not stand for fine dining. The simply styled snack bar offers doner kebabs, Arabic-inspired vegetarian falafel and Belgian potatoes and waffles.
Buffet restaurant Anckelmannsplatz - Deck 12
The buffet restaurant Anckelmannsplatz offers quality, quality and more quality in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening. Travelers can look forward to a wide variety of specialties from the cold and warm buffet. And there is also a kids' buffet. In warmer regions, the large outdoor terrace is very attractive.
Fish Market – Deck 12
The fish market serves seafood specialties in a casual bistro atmosphere. Some of the food and drinks are subject to a charge. The restaurant has an outdoor area.
Specialty restaurants
Given the quality of the food on offer, there is no need for any of the extra-charge dining options. And yet they are there. You can find them aft in the "Große Freiheit" area on decks 4 and 5.
La Spezia - Enjoy Italian
The small, manageable La Spezia on deck 4 in the Diamant promises top-class Italian delicacies. The busy Italian star chef Theodor Falser is responsible for this on several ships in the TUI Cruises fleet. The tiled area in front of La Spezia is intended as a venue for cooking shows.
Hideki – Asian Delight – Deck 5
The Hideki is part of the light-flooded diamond-shaped glass facade at the stern of the ship. According to TUI Cruises, guests of the Hideki immerse themselves in the "culinary diversity of Asia". And indeed: The food in this restaurant is by far the best that we enjoyed on board the Mein Schiff 7. Meat and vegetables were perfectly prepared, cooked to perfection, and the food was both very tasty and imaginatively arranged. It is quiet in the Hideki and the service is extremely attentive. And one more thing: the guests watch the sushi specialists prepare the dishes.
Surf & Turf - Steakhouse
Also on deck 5 we see the tried and tested Surf & Turf steakhouse with the open show kitchen. The spectrum of the TUI Cruises classic, located on the starboard side, ranges from grilled specialties of various types of meat to seafood.

Juice yard
The juice bar, located next to the reception on deck 3, is the result of a collaboration with the Austrian fruit juice manufacturer Rauch. In the juice bar, TUI Cruises serves freshly squeezed juices or smoothies for a fee.
My Ship 7 - Saftwerft
TUI Bar and Schaubar
With the TUI Bar (Deck 4) and the no-frills Schau Bar (Deck 5), the ship offers two successful, large and always well-attended bars with entertainment options.
Galerie Bar – Deck 4
The Gallery Bar offers everything a bar needs: comfortable seating, friendly service staff, communicative fellow travelers and the wide range of drinks you would expect from TUI Cruises. It is part of the art gallery.
Diamond bar
The Diamant Bar on the Mein Schiff 7 is an elegant lounge with an exclusive ambiance in the spectacular "diamond" at the stern of the ship. Located on Deck 5, it offers impressive panoramic views of the sea through floor-to-ceiling windows – perfect for a sundowner or a stylish end to the evening. All drinks at this bar are subject to a charge and are not included in the Premium All-Inclusive concept. The Diamant Bar is the only bar on board the Mein Schiff 7 that is open XNUMX hours a day.

Mein Schiff 7 - Diamond Bar
Dance bar
The Abtanz Bar on the Mein Schiff 7 is a popular meeting place for night owls and dance enthusiasts. It is located on Deck 5 (Pier) and officially opens until late in the evening – in our experience, usually until 02:00am With 72 seats, it offers table service. Aside from the Tag & Nacht Bar, which serves some non-alcoholic beverages around the clock, the Abtanz Bar is the bar that has offered inclusive drinks on board for the longest time – including a wide selection of alcoholic beverages.
Café Central
New to the canon of bars and lounges is Café Central on Deck 5. It's no coincidence that Café Central transports you to Vienna. TUI Cruises offers the finest coffee and outstanding pastries.
Champagne meeting
On Deck 6, guests will find the exclusive Champagne Bar at the stern. A small, fine selection of drinks is available. Champagne, and not only, requires an additional charge.
Mein Schiff 7 - Champagne Meeting
Ruhepol Bar
The three named bar areas are located on Deck 12, the pool deck. The Ruhepol Bar & Lounge offers a stylish, tranquil atmosphere with stunning ocean views—ideal for unwinding with a good drink.
Mein Schiff 7 - Ruhepol Bar
Indispensable bar and ice cream bar
The Unverzicht Bar, located directly by the pool, creates a summery atmosphere. Here, guests enjoy fruity cocktails and refreshing drinks; it's especially popular during lively pool parties. For sweet moments in between, the Ice Cream Bar is the perfect place to stop: Here, guests can create their own individual ice cream sundae or choose from a selection of 17 lovingly crafted sundaes—a true highlight for all ice cream lovers.
Außenalster – Bar & Grill and Überschau Bar
There are three meeting points for guests on the 14th deck. The Außenalster Bar, located aft, enjoys a high level of popularity among passengers. In our opinion, it's the best place for an outdoor drink at any time, especially during departure maneuvers. The Überschau Bar is located at the front of the ship on the port side.
Hoheluft Bar
The Hoheluft Bar, located aft on Deck 15, offers the best views. The bar is connected to the Außenalster Bar & Grill below via a striking arched bridge.
Mein Schiff 7 - Hoheluft Bar
X-Lounge & X-Bar
The X-Lounge and X-Bar on the Mein Schiff 7 offer guests of the suites and junior suites exclusive retreats with first-class service. The X-Lounge is located in the forward area of Deck 14 and invites guests to linger in an elegant, tranquil atmosphere with stunning ocean views. The X-Bar is located on Deck 15 and offers an exclusive outdoor area with its own bar and comfortable lounge furniture.
Guests are pampered with culinary delights throughout the day – from high-quality breakfasts and fine snacks to stylish dinners. Champagne, premium spirits, and barista-made coffee specialties are included until 19:00pm; after 19:00pm, all drinks are subject to a charge.
Lots of space for sports and wellness
“Feel good” is written in capital letters on the bow of the Mein Schiff 7. For many passengers, the ships’ spa and fitness offerings are among the special feel-good moments of a cruise. A total of 2.400 square meters of space are reserved for spa and sports purposes in the indoor and outdoor areas on board the Mein Schiff 7.
We have long since stopped being amazed by the exemplary 25-meter outdoor pool on all new TUI Cruises ships. The indoor pool is nice to look at and useful. The disadvantage is that on the fleet ships we know, this area has become a place for parents with small children to hang out. There is no sign of peace and quiet.
The running track on deck 14 is remarkable. At more than 400 meters long, it is significantly longer than the jogging track on many comparable ships. The approximately ten percent incline on the left-hand side of the stern presents a challenge.
Mein Schiff 7 - Running track and sun loungers
While the running track is open twice a day for two hours, the arena known from Mein Schiff 1 and 2 is available to active holidaymakers all day, especially for ball sports. Guests are also offered indoor cycling, a small climbing wall and full-body workouts with the TRX belt system. Entertainment formats and live broadcasts of sporting events can be watched from the rising rows of seats on one side of the hall. The arena is located in the rear area of the ship on deck 14.
In front of the arena, the fitness area is located on the 15th deck around the chimney. Athletes will find the latest sports equipment on an area of around 500 square meters. Personal training sessions as well as various workshops and health checks can be booked for a fee.
The SPA & Sea area has around 1.800 square meters of space available. The design of the rooms is becoming more and more beautiful and the offers seem more and more well thought out. Various saunas and steam rooms are included in the travel price. Experience showers as well as various paid beauty treatments and couples massages complete the offer.
Entertainment
Sophisticated entertainment programs with shows, concerts and variety performances are features of all TUI Cruises ships. The central venue on the Mein Schiff 7 is the three-story theater located in the bow area. It is equipped with the latest stage technology.
For more intimate formats, the Schaubühne, which offers around 150 seats, was set up on the fifth deck. On previous new ships, the small theater was called the "Sound House" or "Studio." The Schaubühne enriches the on-board entertainment, especially with boulevard theater, stand-up comedy or magic. The technical equipment includes fine-pixel LED screens and a sound system that creates the illusion of a concert hall.
Classic features on TUI Cruises ships include the small reading lounge (Deck 3 – Atrium), the aforementioned art gallery (Deck 4), and the tiny casino on Deck 5 with its adjoining lounge and indoor smoking area. The dance bar is also still there. It has been expanded to include slot machines and a gaming table.
There is no chance of getting bored on board. The entertainment options are varied and cater to many interests. Like its predecessors, Mein Schiff 7 presents works by contemporary artists. Those who like can pursue their own artistic ambitions in the studio under expert guidance.

Family offers
TUI Cruises cruise ships are family ships. Parents appreciate this fact. It goes without saying that children of all ages and teenagers will find suitable and age-appropriate recreational areas on board. They will also be offered events appropriate to their age.

High standards in environmental protection and energy efficiency
Older cruise ships are rightly classified as polluting by environmentalists. They mainly burn heavy oil, which is harmful to the environment. TUI Cruises relies on constructive measures with regard to environmental protection and energy efficiency for the new buildings from the start. Over the years these systems have been further refined.
We believe it is important that Mein Schiff 7 is powered exclusively by marine diesel instead of environmentally harmful heavy fuel oil. TUI Cruises also expects that the new ship will be able to use methanol, preferably "green" methanol, as fuel in the future. A technical solution for this is currently being developed. The TUI Cruises management expects the technical introduction to take place in early 2026.
Mein Schiff 7 and her sister ships use a combined exhaust gas aftertreatment system in continuous operation. It consists of a permanently operating exhaust gas scrubber and catalysts for the main and auxiliary engines. This technology helps to significantly reduce nitrogen oxide emissions, especially in coastal and port areas.
A shore power connection is also part of the basic equipment. Another measure to improve environmental compatibility is a new and complex system for waste treatment.

Mein Schiff 7 - a cruise ship for the discerning
There is no doubt about it: Mein Schiff 7 is a cruise ship primarily for demanding and quality-conscious German-speaking cruisers. Based on our recent experience, passengers who choose this ship can rightly have high expectations of the ship and the service offered. As always, there is no reason to complain.

Rating of Mein Schiff 7
Mein Schiff 7 is the last of the current ship class. Mein Schiff Relax, an eighth and much larger ship, officially entered service on March 2, 2025. A ninth cruise ship, Mein Schiff Flow, is under construction. Both ships belong to the InTUItion ship class.
With Mein Schiff 7, the Hamburg shipping company presents a cruise ship that is both successful and presentable. Many areas of the Mein Schiff 7 will be familiar to those familiar with Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2, and – as is usual with TUI Cruises – there are also a few successful innovations.
Cruise Turtle visited Mein Schiff 7 for a press presentation on the day of its christening. We took a first cruise on the second youngest ship in the fleet in January 2025.
