It's a really nice day at sea. Not too warm, but with enough sun to be outside.
But first we explore our home for the next two weeks. The Celebrity Millennium is a beautiful ship. It entered service in 2000, but is in excellent shape for its age.
No doubt about it - it's the Celebrity Millennium
There are a total of 1079 cabins and the ship is almost fully booked. Nevertheless, the feeling of tightness does not arise. The Millennium is well sized. Passengers have more than enough space both on the outside decks and inside, in the bars and restaurants.
In the afternoon we enjoy the sun by the pool. It's February. In Germany it is now about zero degrees, while we get a slight sunburn in the Chinese Sea. In the afternoon we drive through the Hainan Strait. To port, i.e. to our left, is the island of Hainan, to starboard is the Chinese mainland.
Later we go to the Captain's Club party. We always find it interesting to meet members of the crew and other passengers. Our captain Alexander Papadopoulos turns out to be a real entertainer.
Otherwise we enjoy the tranquility, the delicious food and the comfortable life on board. In the evening we watch the Broadway show in the theater. What I like best is the homage to Frankie Valley and the Four Seasons.
Rendezvous Lounge bar
We'll end the evening in the Rendezvous Bar. And again there is good live music, this time we hear a guitarist.
