The cruise line Azamara ex Azamara Club Cruises was a brand and a company of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd for many years. Azamara Club Cruises has represented the boutique ship division within the group since 2007. The cruise ships are positioned in the premium plus segment. The company, renamed Azamara, has belonged to the New York private equity firm Sycamore Partners since spring 2021.
The Azamara Fleet
The Azamara fleet comprised three ships under the aegis of Royal Caribbean. It was them Azamara Journeywho have favourited Azamara Pursuit and the Azamara Quest. The identical, 181 meter long cruise ships in the 30.000 ton class are luxurious and can accommodate a maximum of 690 passengers. They were built in France between 2000 and 2001. Sycamore Partners added the Azamara Onward to the fleet. The ship originally sailed under the name Pacific Princess. the Azamara Onwards is identical to the three other ships.

The former cruise line Renaissance Cruises ordered a total of eight identical R-Class ships. The company went bankrupt in the fall of 2001. After the bankruptcy, Azamara secured four ships. The other four ships are currently sailing for Oceania Cruises.

Azamara stands for high quality cruise experiences. Extensive inclusive services, personal service and long layovers in the ports of destination are the trademarks of the shipping company. Azamara's travel offers are aimed at discerning, well-off travelers.

According to current information, Azamara cruise ships call at 362 ports in 92 countries. When planning a route, the focus is on less frequented destinations or smaller ports. The Azamara ships often leave their destinations late in the evening. The shipping company speaks of 862 departures in the late evening; and when it comes to travel, a total of 392 overnight stays are offered.
The ship's guests are given intensive impressions (immersions) in the destinations. As a highlight of every cruise - transatlantic trips and short trips of less than seven days duration are excluded - there is an evening shore excursion that is included in the cruise price. It is the so-called “AzAmazing Evening”. Such program items are, for example, exclusive evening events in the Titanic Museum Belfast, in the Maritime Museum Amsterdam (Scheepvartmuseum) or an evening trip to the Berber families in Wadi Rum. These events are unique in the cruise industry.

Numerous services are included in the travel price. This includes tips for cabin, restaurant and bar staff. Mineral water, high-quality teas, coffee and a selection of popular spirits, beers and fine wines are also part of the standard offer. If available, shuttle services to and from the port are offered. Butlers are on hand to help suite residents.
