Villa Borghese and Monte Pincio
The weather is great and we are out early. Villa Borghese and Monte Pincio are on our program. The Villa Borghese is Rome's largest public park. There are fountains, monuments, a riding arena and some museums. We take an extended tour through the park to the Galleria Borghese and then to the viewing terrace on Monte Pincio.
View from the Terrazza del Pincio
Located directly above the Piazza del Popolo, this terrace again offers a great view of Rome. In front of us are the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica, the Palace of Justice and the Hospital San Spirito, on the left you can see the dome of the Pantheon and the Vittoriano. Our way back takes us past the Villa Medici, where the French Academy is located, and the Trinità del Monti church, which is at the top of the Spanish Steps.
At the hotel we pick up our luggage, take a taxi to the Roma-Termini station and the train to Civitavecchia. Everything works fine.
Rome is really a great city. Whenever we have the opportunity to spend time there, we do so and can highly recommend it to others. A stay is recommended, especially before or after a cruise. The distance between the Civitavecchia cruise terminal and the center of Rome is not particularly far and can be comfortably covered by public transport.
Civitavecchia - the Celebrity Reflection awaits us
Also in Civitavecchia everything is going well. Collective taxis go to the port entrance, then a shuttle bus to the ship. The check-in at Celebrity Cruises goes smoothly and quickly, our cabin number 8178 is ready for occupancy and beautiful. We can relax and eat something, watch the ship and do the rescue exercise. We experience the departure in the afternoon at five o'clock in the Sunset Bar on deck 15.
