Celebrity Reflection - Western Mediterranean - Day 11 - At Sea

Author Anne Plau

Another day at sea

Today is really busy again, our cruise is coming to an end. In bingo there is the super jackpot, the grand finale of the art auction takes place and the shops offer extra discounts. In the Café al Bacio, the captain chats with the passengers, the officers and guests meet for golf putting and pool volleyball. The artists can also be found everywhere with live performances. The Tenors of Rock present themselves again in a matinee and in the evening the last big show with the singers and dancers of the Reflection takes place in the Grand Foyer.

And what we do? We enjoy this sunny day at sea again. Land comes into view towards evening. Sardinia lies ahead of us. And then we drive through between Sardinia and Corsica, which is incredibly beautiful.

What else is there to say about the reflection?

The Celebrity Reflection offers a lot of space, especially in the outdoor areas. There are the spacious pools, the sunbathing areas in the sun, but also quite a few in the shade and of course the Lawn Club. A real lawn on a cruise ship is something very special. In addition, you are repeatedly asked to use the lawns.

The inside area is dominated by the grand foyer and the glass elevators. The Grand Foyer is on decks 3 to 5, and bars, cafes and shops are adjacent. The elevator shaft, which is open from deck 3 to deck 15, has eight elevators and a real tree in the middle is right next to it. Adjacent to decks 6 to 12 is the iLounge with PC workstations, the cozy hideaway, the Game On area for electronic games, the library and the Captain's Club. On deck 14 and 15 you can look directly from the elevator onto the pool area. Here the elevator ride is like a little tour of a ship.

Food and drinks are available around the clock. The food is great. The selection and quality are always good, whether in the buffet or service restaurant, in the café or at the grill. Likewise the drinks and the service.

When it comes to clothing, it's casual or sporty and chic, although casual should not be confused with careless. Swimwear and shorts in the restaurants and bars inside don't work at all. Formal wardrobe is a thing of the past, and the captain also likes to wear short-sleeved shirts.

The staff are all very good, friendly, careful and attentive. Our steward Chetan received a 1+ for his exceptionally good service.

Critical

There are points of criticism, but very few. On other cruises and on other cruise ships, too, the sale of beverage packages is promoted at the beginning of a trip. During this trip, we were uncomfortable with the persistence with which this topic was approached.
The tables in the buffet restaurant outside were sometimes not well maintained. Often there was also a lack of cutlery, glasses and cups at individual stations.
And the music in the public spaces was just too loud. In particular in the area of the Grand Foyer, the lobby open to the top, the sound was heard from deck 3 to deck 15. In the adjacent cafes and bars, entertainment was sometimes only possible under difficult conditions.
