Our day at sea begins with moderate weather: clouds, cool wind, choppy seas and occasional light rain. From noon on, however, it gets dry and the sun can be seen. I like days at sea. If you want to be active, a cruise ship offers plenty of choice. Or relax by the pool or on the sun deck.
Pool area of the Costa Fortuna
For us it is a day to take pictures and relax. At noon the Captain's Club invites you to a reception. We give ourselves this event. Even the first didn't convince us.
Kindergarten at sea
In the afternoon we stay in our cabin and on the balcony. After almost a week on the Costa Fortuna we need some distance from our fellow travelers. Seven days of cruising in the Mediterranean, with guests changing in Genoa, Marseille, Tarragona and Palma. The constant coming and going brings a lot of unrest. The service area on deck 3 - especially the reception - is constantly overcrowded. In addition, the approximately 300 accompanying children determine life on board.
Event in the Grand Bar di Savoia
There are no restrictions. A kindergarten at sea: children romp in the pool and in the whirlpools, in the restaurant, in the piano bar and in the disco. Children up to the age of 10 pay nothing if they live in the cabin of their parents, grandparents or other accompanying persons. Therefore, more and more families are likely to come up with the idea of distributing the costs caused by their offspring among all guests. In addition, most children are very poorly brought up: With shoes over upholstered chairs and armchairs and eating with fingers are just a few examples.
Evening is gala evening. There is a particularly elaborate menu, you can have photos taken of you with the captain and later the ball will take place with the officers.
This is something for the Italians: dress chic, eat lavishly and party wildly. And it's fun to watch them. But first it's the children's turn. Disguised as princesses or as little captains, they wander through the Grand Bar and dance with the officers. I am shocked.
