Karl WP Beyer That day, Piraeus and Athens are on the agenda. For US $ 70,00, Royal Caribbean promises to present Athens and the Acropolis to us. We think we can do this just as well for less money. It's been more than 15 years since we were last here. So let's refresh our memories.
The rough program is to walk to the metro, drive to Athens and, starting at Syntagma Square, conquer the Acropolis via several stops. That also works quite well. Unfortunately, the heat thwarted our plans that day. On this occasion it should be said that from Syntagma Square you can explore Athens and Piraeus with the Hop On, Hop Off bus every 30 minutes. The bus stops at 27 stations.
Our program item Lykavittos, the 277 meter high mountain facing the Acropolis at a suitable distance, remains unclimbed by us on this day. That is actually a shame because we remember the view from up there as extraordinarily beautiful. We are also no longer able to manage the Mikrolimano marina in Piraeus.
